In this age of digital, I am as guilty as the next person when it comes to only enjoying art, photography and creative expression on a smaller and smaller screen. Galleries are going digital. Broadcast is turning to palm-top SVOD. Before becoming a wildlife cinematographer, I studied documentary photography as the major element of my degree. We were actively discouraged from using digital, and encouraged to print our work manually in the dark room. I’m acutely aware of both the enjoyment of fine art prints, and the power of the printed medium for enhancing context and impact of a photograph. As such, whilst we all take a forced time-out and slow down, I wanted to launch a limited range of fine art photo prints displaying some of my favourite and most impactful images from over the years. Whilst technology has moved on and I’m no longer as sharp under the red light of a developing lab as I used to be, I hope that this selection brings a bit of tactile beauty into the confines of your home and helps your mind escape to a more open, more accessible, and more natural world.
All of these images are printed on 308gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, one of the world’s most popular fine-art papers. The 100% white cotton artist’s paper with its characteristic wonderfully soft feel, boasts a lightly defined felt structure, lending each artwork a three-dimensional appearance and impressive pictorial depth. Combined with the matt premium inkjet coating, this paper produces outstanding prints that feature brilliant colours, deep blacks, striking contrasts and perfect reproduction of detail.
